Design and test a new payment proposition for Santander PagoFX

Brief

PagoFX was a key part in Santander’s 4-year digital transformation program, a program which has been pledged a staggering €20 billion investment. Identifying a gap in the international payments market, PagoFX is designed to combine the best of both worlds: the trust and security of a large bank with the single-minded customer focus of an industry disruptor. Santander believes that even with the flux of new market entrants, there is a clear space for the service.

We were brought into deliver excellent user experience along with groundbreaking technology and a product mindset in the design and development of this new proposition.

Team

The initial team was a fully cross functional team with a Delivery Lead, User Experience Designer, Product Designer, Tech Lead, iOS and Android Engineers and a QA lead.

Following the discovery period, As we moved into delivery and had a well defined backlog, we grew the team into 3 cross functional teams and added an insights consultant to support analysing the feedback loops we had created on the alpha launch and beyond.

We also partnered with external branding agency on delivering the brand fit for digital us, collaborated with a UX writer to ensure content supported a good user experience and a user research agency who led facilitating the user research ahead of the initial launch.
