Redesigning blood transplants with Anthony Nolan

Brief

We worked with Anthony Nolan to optimise the experiences of the patient, donor and transplant centres through human centred design:

• Identifying the pain points and bottlenecks in the charity’s operations
• Running two design sprints to generate solutions and test them within the context of the end of end service
• Building a blueprint to visualise how the future state would work with the rest of the service
• Defining its product strategy
• Partnering with and coaching internal teams to enable them to run these processes independently

As the service designer and principal UX designer, I was involved in this engagement before the project kicked off. Through sessions with stakeholders and collaboration with the director leading the sales I put together the project plan and proposal to fit the outcomes within the timescales and the budget. Throughout the engagement my role was both a facilitator as well as a coach, supporting the team to run the workshops, contribute to the planning and strategy.
